Introduction to Camera composition PowerPoint

 What is camera composition?

The way elements of a scene are arranged in a camera frame. Shot composition refers to the arrangement of visual elements to convey an intended message.

The objective of this assignment was to analyze the main concepts of camera framing and camera composition. We were to watch the following videos:

-Camera Framing in film https://youtu.be/qQNiqzuXjoM
-Camera Composition Ep 11 Video (Point, Line, and Shape)https://youtu.be/nKM3jkEOpuE?t=25
-Camera Composition Ep 11 Video (Depth and Balance)https://youtu.be/hUmZldt0DTg
-Camera Focus Ep 4 Video (Deep Focus and Shallow Focus)https://youtu.be/ZGNUqNFfD8M

From there we were to find examples from various movies matching the shots in section 3 and 4 for a total of 16 images. The goal was to define each camerawork shot, list two key point, name the movie and year, and create an action line.

What did I learn?
From this assignment, I learned how to better identify camera composition as well as define them. Analyzing the main concepts of camera composition made me look at some of these movies through a different perspective. The more I study camerawork, the more I understand how the way a camera is held can highly impact the art of a scene.

The placement and position of the subjects in your shots. Shots are all about composition. Rather than pointing the camera at the subject, you need to compose an image.

Creative Critical Reflection

My creative critical reflection! I loved putting this PowerPoint together and making it match the film created with our group.
